Actually I found that post kind of interesting. Seemed like relevant information for Ken or some other developer who wanted to add functionality to DVDP that would directly address the OPs need. For example, you could start with a back cover scan and pick up the UPC and maybe the Overview and some other details to get a new profile contribution started. Or a laptop camera could be used to pick up the barcode (as in the Android version). I like to dream ...

I think the the thread "Barcode Scanner Use" can be removed completely. It has turned out to be nothing else but a playground for (a) spammer(s).
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Yes please!

New User Forum is the storefront all potential buyers who seek help see. Is this really how such a storefront should look?

It seems to attract spam like a fly to flypaper. Is that a bad thing? I'd rather all of the spam hit a single topic instead of new topics every day.

(Wishful thinking... now a new topic will appear within 24 hours)

I could be remembering wrong... but I somehow remember Ken saying he couldn't delete complete threads once there is a reply made.

He may be constrained by his own business policy, but as the web site owner and "super Admin," trust me he can do anything he darn well pleases!

I guess there could be some kind of law protecting the rights of forum posters, but other than the First Amendment, I doubt it.

The thread has 5 legit answers and 10 spam posts. If the massages couldn't be deleted, they should be moderated and the thread should be locked.

Agreed. He may not be able to delete threads, but he could definitely edit and lock that specific thread.

There doesn't seem to be too much forum moderation going on in this section anymore however...
