I had installed the previous version on my un-rooted Acer Liquid E with an app called "Installer" without any problems.

But on the latest version (downloaded from Dropbox) that app always tells me "No APK file found" after it scanned the sd-card. (the "allow install from other than Market"-option is still checked)
Can the APK simply be defective, although I downloaded it again?
The file has a size of 280.735 bytes according to windows.

Any other ideas anyone?

I find it odd that a LOT of the people having issues are flying the German flag....

I have the APK that is working on my Evo and Transformer as the following

276 KB (282,624 bytes) On Disc

On the phone it installed over itself, on the tablet i had to un install it first.

Hi Robert,
USA here. I had to uninstall before the app would install on my phone.
I am also getting an error at the end of every plugin transfer run stating ""DROID_DVDP" cannot be found, you have to run the app at least once to create...."
I really can't tell if it's blocking transfer, or there is extra code of some sort at the end of the plugin run??

If you have an empty homescreen, it means that you have not the last export and application, or that you didn't exoport your collection after installing new version.

Hello,

A bad news for me (and for you) : My htc evo 3D is now bricked, after a flash with s-off that failed

I have to send it to HTC for repair, and it will probably take a few weeks

I have no other android phone in the hands. I can use the emulator, but it's not as easy as the phone itself.

So, don't expect news before end of july, because I also will take some holidays.

But the good news is that I've checked the new plugin interface for the upcoming version 3.8, and I will implement the display of the 3D blu-ray format, and also add a filter on this.

Regards,

Olivier.

A little new folks :

On the non rooted phone of my friend, I've seen that the 'find' command fails for security reasons when searching for the 'dvd_profiler_is_here' file. In this case, I will use an LS command, which will be slower but will not fail. This will be for next plugin version.

Guys,
this might be just the first or very few times I have posted but have been a member for a very long time. Also own all three versions of DVD profiler with a collection of 1600 titles.

I would just like to make some general comments.

I am one of those people who changes phone and thus OS system probably once per year going back and forth Iphone to Android.

First up I would like to give a big thanks to Oliver for his Droid DVD app. I am sure a lot of people have been waiting for such and app and its still a pity its so hard to find.

There are a number of comments on various other dvd applications My movies, Dvd Profiler and Collectorz in this thread.  Profiler is ( at least in my eyes) the best but the absolute worst in customer support and future development. It is very very sad that Ken feels it necessary to separate himself from his customers and never tells anyone what is happening with development (if any is going on). If Ken has no desire or intention to develop and android version of profiler then he should say so and allow either formally or informally allow someone else to develop one with his support.

I have some connection with Collectorsz as a friend of mine does the user acceptance testing. Collectorsz is available for every OS known to man. But as i say not probably as good as DVD profiler. But if you email them you get and answer with in 12 hours.

Collectorz does prove that it is not rocket science to cross develop an app from one OS to another. Thus the point I am making is why is it left to Oliver to make a Profiler app for Android.

There is a long held view that you cant make any money out of android apps because few people buy them. The main reason for this is that it is sooo difficult to buy them. Credit card is the only option and increasing people don't like using their credit cards online. In Australia over 96% of Iphone apps are purchased without registering a credit card, done using Itunes gift cards purchased in stores. Google and android need to establish an easier method.  For the first time this year android devices outsold Iphone meaning that android is finally taking off and it is now time to develop and market good quality apps. (DVD profiler for Android) And provide options for buying not just credit card.

Once again thanks to Oliver for at least we android users have something that works.
