Or we could just call them a bloody nuisance. There is that also.  I only have one disc like this (Mirrors 2) and it hasn't been much of a hassle. At least they don't grab onto the next case on the rack like some other things do. Technically they are less nuisance than slip cases or slip covers, you don't have to remove them first, they just stay there looking to be in the way, but really they aren't in the way at all. Plus they are easily removable I would think. I haven't tried taking mine off as it doesn't bug me, but I assume (I know and I still do!) it has the same rubber glue that steelbooks use to hold on the paper flaps everyone tears off. |

Guess it's time for all of us to re-visit and re-study the rules. 
I was also thinking O-cards are slip covers, one side open are slip cases, no matter what is under them.
There's a thread somewhere close about the glued-on cardboard front covers some studios are now using on some new releases like Mirror Mirror and Wrong Turn 3. I think it was more of a "should we scan these" than "what do call these" thread though.
I offer the term "Face Plate" or "Cover Plate" for your consideration, and to be a new packaging click option. +1 Face Plate appears to be the correct terminology to use in this case. We profile everything else so why not this.  |
