| Posted: | | | | Why does the app need to sync with the desktop client? Is it not possible to have the iOS app simply download updates from the online database? |

| Posted: | | | | Will we be able to use the iOS version without ever using the desktop version?
And will we be able to download then profile backed up on the server via the app without the desktop version?
(I would prefer to never use the desktop app again, as it's always a pain to have to head to and boot up the computer to track.) |

Maybe because you also want some local info in de app, like where to find your blu-ray or dvd? Ken did say that the desktop app is not necessary - everything can be done with the iphone app - but that you might find some things easier using the desktop app. | | | Paul |

There is no localized info in the online database yet. |

There is no localized info in the online database yet. no - the original poster was wanting to know why he needed to sync with the desktop app. I answered that by saying he didn't need to. He can add any local information he wants after he has downloaded the updates. | | | Paul |

| Posted: | | | | If I read it correctly, pauls is correct...the iOS version does no have to sync with the desktop. It is fully functional on it's own. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
