You cant vote correct if you dont have the DVD

The point is you need to give sources when making changes. You can't assume people will think the same as you. If you don't document how you got that information it should be rejected.

I wrote it only because I think its a bug:
When Images are declined the profile are declined too

I've read from someone else that his better scans has been declined too, he had to resubmit the scans and wrote why his scans are better, that confirm my mind that the screeners only judge by the voters reasons.

Do they have only 14" B/W Screens  ?

When images are declined profile contributions are not automatically declined.

Could it have been done accidentally?  Yes (but from what i read and see here that probably wasn't the case).
Bad movie?  You're soaking in it!

Obviously they are first checking for the votes then for the notes and at last for the contribution itself.
Since the first two of your contribution were negative and or not correct. It got declined.

The rest of us doesn't know that you know how to contribute.
So please for further contributions add the following info to the notes
Quote:
1.: What did you change
2.: Why did you change it
3.: What sources did you use
4.: For new scans: Where are the improvements of the new scans

For this contribution:
Brighten up the scans a bit (too dark)
To me it seems like the scan is slightly hanging to the right.
If you fix this and say so in the contribution notes next time it should pass.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Never said you were a noob.

If you used PowerDVD and VOB Audio and had put that in your contribution Notes, you could have avoided the "no" votes by those who said "no sources".

OK, understood!
No help required from you.
But before making stupid jokes about help attempts you should have read Gerri's post in this thread.

Quoting Gerri Cole:
Quote:
It is very important with images to be specific about what your changes are if you are submitting a full size image and there is already one there. You should point out specific differences and call them out. The scans must be significantly different in order to be accepted.

Going on the scans Michael has provided I say it was because the replacement scan was way too dark, and if I was voting that would be my reason.

I agree with your assesment of the image, way too dark and infinitely less readable as a result.

And the scan is not to dark, the existing scan is too bright, strange that the other cover has been accepted because it has the same quality

Sadly that you still dont understand what I mean @ Romancing the Stone

Did you include that information in your notes, from what i see it lloks like that answer is NO. Don't expect users to be mind readers. You also stated that you corrected Subs and Audio, and your comment here is likewise unclear. THE DVD. Does that mean the cover, which we all KNOW is often inaccurate, does it mean the menus, does it mean you used some tool to verify the Audio and Subs.
What we have here is failure to communicate! (On your part) Make your notes clear and concise.

As for the cover, you stated YOUR opinion, there is no objective method in which to evaluate the Cover scans. You think it is right and at least two users have disagreed with you with explanatiuons of why....you lose. Sorry.

I can see your noit a newb, nimrod. however, if all of your notes have been as unclear as this set...

Your question does come off like that of newb, someone with as much under your belt as yourself, I would expect better of.

Drop the attitude, nimrod.

Many of us despite YOUR opinion are highly qualified in the area of images, myself have dealt with many thousands of them. Most of us TRY to achieve a resen=mblance to the actual as closely as possible. HOWEVER, we also recognize that in some instances there are trade-offs that might need to be made to improve readbility, images on the back or whatever, particularly a problem when it come to various kinds of reflective covers, such as the one you are dealing with. The first thing that caught my eye on yours was that it was very nopticeably less readable than the existing for several reasons, darkness, sharpness, contrast to name just a few.

Indeed, what is better in terms of a scanned image comes down greatly to each person's own opinion. I've had a few scans declined that I consider better than those existing. In those cases I read the no votes, try to take on board what they're saying & if I feel able, adjust the scans & re-upload them. There have been many cases where I'll scan the cover but not upload because the change isn't what I consider significant enough to warrant submission.

When I say DVD I mean the DVD not the cover

3:2 should be Win
And If you dont have the DVD you cant vote correct in this case, because you must compare it with the ORIGINAL METALPAK not with the other scan!

We don't have to own a particular DVD to vote. If as in this case another menber of the communitity brings the incident to the forum's and ask's for oppions as to whether the have done the right thing or not and they themselves are providing the information.

What right does that give you to tell everybody who is telling you exactly what the screeners have already told you, that they are wrong but you are right. Get over your own ego, we have all had contributions declined for what ever reasons, but it seems some of us take on board the comments and do something about it.

Ask yourself this much...If you went into a shop tomorrow and came across your scan as a cover on display for a brand new DVD, would you buy it or woould you pick up a cover like the one that is in the online (which at least can be read).

Steve

OMG!

This is not democracy, this is giving reasons why a contribution is valid or not.
There might be a 1.000 to 1 vote, if the one users gives a valid reason for his NO-vote the contribution will be declined. It's as easy as that.
If you don't want to understand this it's your problem.

Just one more:
If you claim to not be a noob, stop asking questions and making statements like one.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Based on what I have seen nimrod, it was not a mistake, your Contribution, both parts were justifiably turned down. No bug.

sometimes its obvious that I think its needless, for example when the existing scans are thumbnails

What you should do, is innstead of doing what you seem to be doing, which is taking it way to personally, it's offered as constructive criticism. take the advice and apply it.
