When you give a positive or negative vote, is the person receiving it aware of it?  Or, is it something tracked only by the website?

You can see positive votes, but probably not negative votes. For years I've seen only positive feedback on my posts, though I know many users think I'm negative (T!M has even blocked me for PM though I never sent PM to him...    )

Funny you say that. I have been blocked by somebody since 2011, and I haven't the foggiest clue why. I always wondered if it was a mistake.
Thanks for your support.

In case of T!M, it is not a mistake. He was with Skip the most fervent defender of the E=e rule, and when I explained how bad it was for the linking functions of the program, he blocked me.

I've got 2. Don't know why and don't care. I do wonder why there are not more.

It's not, no. Other than that, you clearly haven't got a clue, and I don't appreciate that you're presenting your either misguided assumptions, or else they're calculated lies, about my reasons for blocking you as fact. Furthermore, I honestly don't understand why you're bringing this up again, more than seven years after the fact. Apparently that block *really* bothers you - but it shouldn't. It's firmly staying in place, so you might as well just move on. A grand total of eight different users have blocked me over the years - I'm guessing the truth hurts - and I couldn't care less. I suggest you do the same.

You would probably be happy if it was the case, but it is not
I just find it childish, you behave like kids in a playground. Since you say that the reason I gave is not the good one, an adult behavior would be to give the real reason of your block, and explain why this blocking will help things between us...

I do not care about negative feedback, that is why I always say what I think I have to say. For me those forums are useful only to improve the product. It works quite well for the program which is great  (see beta testing forums, and improvements as headshots sharing or plugins), but it failed for the online database because, for some users, the number of contributions is more important than the quality of their data, and they worked to get rules allowing easy contributions, even if the consequence is to populate the online with wrong data.

Katatonia:  Thanks for the info.

Could someone close/lock this discussion before more children crash the party?

I'm a little late to the party, but if I remember correctly, you used to be able to see negative votes just like you can for positive ones.

If memory serves, it caused more problems than it resolved, so that function was removed and now you can only see positive votes and only Invelos sees the negative.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.
