| Posted: | | | | >>3D collection is still growing.<< I've been wearing out Ebay lately with 3D discs. I've added a separate 3D category to my collection, at the end of the 1st section of movies, before TV Shows. Gene My Collection | | | Last edited: by GeneinOrlando |

| Posted: | | | | Well, all good things must come to an end. My bad habit is finally being forced to curtail. Moving now and downsizing. So, will be forced to stop this crazy game. Assume I'll continue to add to the collection, but at a much slower pace, if at all (at least want to continue the 3D collection, now at over 350). Will need to see how I can find enough storage space. Do you realize how many cases of discs I have packed for the movers Gene |

| Posted: | | | | I did a move just over a year ago. Had to downsize because of storage issues. Went from 8800 to 1700. Good luck on your resolution. |

Didn't mean I was downsizing my collection ….. only a smaller home. Actually planning how to display the collection to get to all discs, in a "library/projection/equipment room" just behind my theater ... planning on having movable shelving that will accordian back and forth to make best use of the space. My theater will be a bit smaller at 15.5' x 23' …. adequate. Gene |

| Posted: | | | | I'm at almost 1300 and already thinking about weeding out ones which don't have quite the rewatch value to make room for new. I doubt very highly I'll ever get to 25,000, my wife would have already left me long ago... | | | Time is the fire in which we burn. (Soran) | | | Last edited: by kd5 |

| Posted: | | | | That is tryly impressive (26,000 discs). My collection is just under 3000 retail dvds+blurays not counting the many thousands of copies of movies downloaded BUT after looking at your list and how you counted the dvds, I would actually have probably at least 15,000. I have many of the same seasons of shows that you have but do not count each dvd separetly. I count the whole season as one (1) dvd. Also as far as actual movies go, I see you counted "big trouble little china" as 2 as they were from 2 different years though the same exact movie (even has the same covers). I would list that as just one dvd. If I have a bluray and a standard dvd of the same movie, I count them only as one together not each as one.
So, I guess I've been doing this all wrong. I wish I had seen your list BEFORE I started keeping track of my retail movies. Maybe, someday, I will redo/retype my whole list and count each and every dvd and see how I fare but I cannot imagine how long that will take. Anyhow, congrats to you. I know that was a lot of work to compile such a long list of dvds. |

Gene Cases? That would be 26,000+ which probably translates to roughly 260 boxes. |

Movers said they had never seen so many boxes Closing in on 27,000 …. 3D movies have slowed down, cause I have all that are currently available (that I would want). Waiting for some new ones to come out! Gene |

| Posted: | | | | Well, slower than in the past, but, today I hit 27,000. Found out that if I shopped in Europe, I had many more to chose from. About 60 or so, just coming in from Amazon UK and Amazon Germany. Purchased a Sony 4K Region Free player, so now I can get all of the other region's discs, not available here. Apparently they like 3D movies better there, as I'm finding a lot. Approaching 500 3D titles now, with 100 to 150 still on my future list. Still needing to find the time to get my theater up and running …. still too many boxes to work around. Gene My Collection | | | Last edited: by GeneinOrlando |

| Posted: | | | | Things have really slowed down now. Hard to keep up the pace. Still plodding along at around 27,300 now. Just tough to find the time to devote to it. Still need my theater up and have been watching as many movies as I can downstairs. One of these days, I'll push through. GeneMy Collection |

| Posted: | | | | I've been filling in missing titles now. Particularly Academy Award winners for the big 4, Picture, Director, Actor and Actress. Only 8 more titles to go, from '29 - mid 30s. Should have soon. Then, I finally found titles that I've looked for, for a number of years. One of my OLD favorite actors, Red Skelton. His movies have now been released, mostly on MOD (manufactured on demand). Really exercised my cards on Amazon and Ebay the last few days, and picked up a couple dozen of his movies. Still 2 or 3 that I'm looking for. Certainly not a habit for the faint of heart! Gene My Collection |
