| Posted: | | | | Hello all, I'm launching the application in public beta. I call it still beta, because there may be problems with the plugin install and incompatibilites on the android devices. Please note that I'm doing this in my free time, so I'll react as soon as I can. Also, please don't use cracked version of Invelos' DVD Profiler. Buy it and register it. We all need Invelos to stay alive and running the database. Screenshots Instructions :For the first use, install android application on your device and run it once. It will create directories that the plugin will try to locate to know where to copy files. It should show you an empty collection.Install the export plugin on the PC, and run it.Some android devices do not allow you to connect it via active sync nor USB storage. In this case, you'll have to manually copy files from PC to device (don't buy devices using poprietary connections )Always use the last plugin with the last android application, and export your collection after having both installed : the application may need the new database structure generated by the last export plugin versionDowload : (sorry, no more version in file names to make update easyer) Export Plugin B0.92 : MegaAndroid Application B0.94 : Mega Change Log :Current Release (April 4rd 2013) : B0.94* Bug fix : crash in Cover mode Previous Release (April 3rd 2013) : b0.93* Discs content in the DVD info Tabs (including location/slot) * Bug fix : Sort on title now using the 'sort title' field again * Search button in title bar (or you can use hardware button on devices that have one) * Added a db version to check that the db is the correct version for app * Added Export date and db version in the 'System Informations' * Bug fix : collection number in main list sometimes splitted on 2 lines Previous Release (March 29th 20123) Android Application :beta 0.92* Cover mode click fixed * Redesigned theme (dark or blue : change in parameters), some tabs merged (subtitles+audio , Info + features) * External Links * Menu designed as an activity (for skin reason) Previous Release March 1st 2013 : Android Application :beta 0.91Corrected FC when switching to covers Corrected version number in about box Other fixes ... Older release1.The export plugin should work with Galay tab and probably other devices that didn't worked previously (I hope so) 2.Letter index on the right on the android app. 3.3D bluray supported 4.Other small things. Older version Sept. 3rd 20121.changed time limit to 2013/09/01 2.Some layout changes Beta 0.7 may 30th 20121.Fixed : layout size in landscape (on some devices) 2.Filter on genres. Should work as in the PC version. | Posted: | | | | Marty - I did all the testing on a Win7 64b machine.
The biggest thing to make sure of is the right click run as admin
Outside of that you should be ok.

| Posted: | | | | Tried to install this on a Galaxy Tab. Installation of the apk and the plugin appear to be okay, but the plugin does not find the Android device to start the sync process. Tried through Wifi and USB. Am I missing something?
Note: there is another app on these forums called My Movies. It has very little functionality, but the export through an xml file works flawless. | | | Hans |

| Posted: | | | | On my Galaxy S2, I never get the message that droid dvdp has never run before. When I run the plugin, it finds my device, but it does not find the droid dvdp root directory. for my device the 'droid_dvdp_is_here' file is located at /mnt/sdcard/droid_dvdp |

| Posted: | | | | Inzane, I just saw in another thread that install on an sdcard may be problematic.
If so that creates a problem for certain tablets, where the internal memory is "logically" connected as an sdcard, even though physically it is not an sdcard at all.
I too, find the directories and the "droid dvdp is here" stub on the Android device, but the plugin is not so clever to find them. | | | Hans |

I installed the program on my phone and * I Ran It Once *. I installed the plugin. Flagged some movies, checked the appropriate options. I receive an error message: Cannot find program. You must run one time...etc. OK. I stopped there, went back, ran the program again. Tried to get it recognized. Again no joy. My first install was to my SD card. 1) Are SD cards and issue? 2) What folder in the main memory do you need to put the apk in to be able to install it? (if an SD card won't work?) | Posted: | | | | Another connecting-problem! Install of App and Plugin worked fine as far as I can tell, but when I click on the Refresh-Button to find my Smartphone the eternal hourglass shows up. Can be stopped only if I kill the process abd.exe which brings the error-message: "Invalid response from ABD. Please check version." which might have something to say or not ... My Acer Liquid has Android 2.2, is unrooted, is connected per Wifi and has an IP from the same subnet my PC is in. Is there something additional to do on the android? I must admit that I'm kind of a noob as far as android is involved, I just use it. cya, Mithi | | | Mithi's little XSLT tinkering - the power of XML --- DVD-Profiler Mini-Wiki |

| Posted: | | | | Guys, here are some explanations about how it works.
The application on the device create the directory droid_dvdp in the directory it gets from the Environment.getExternalStorageDirectory().getAbsolutePath() function.
The directory is displayed in the setting & tools. Typically, it should be /mnt/sdcard/droid_dvdp.
You must enable 'USB debugging' in the 'settings' -> 'applications' -> 'Development' and/or (not sure yet, but I think its OR) Have HTC sync installed on the PC The device MUST NOT BE CONNECTED AS EXTERNAL STORAGE (in this mode, the device cannot access the sdcard), and not in charge only, but it must be in HTC SYNC.
Hope this will help. | | | Last edited: by kitarolivier |
