Very nice!
The sync between PC and Smartphone is very fast and quite easy to use.
Going to TCP/IP instead of propriety syncing-mechanism seems to be the better way.
Also the Filter is quite nice and easy to use.

Two thing I would like:
- Right now only Parents are shown, I would like to be able to see everything, because I manipulate the XML-Export in a way that "unnecessary" profiles simply are not exported.[1]
- Full size covers! Yes, that would lengthen the first sync quite a lot, I'm a cover-lover

All in all, a very good app! Siskel&Ebert would give two thumbs up!

cya, Mithi

[1] For now I'm good, I simply weed all those <Parent>-Nodes out of the XML with a XSLT-Transformation. Still, might be interesting for others too.

I don't believe that there will ever be a Android app.

Thats why i'm looking for another PC/Android combo package elsewhere, Ken has taken far to long.

ehm ... there are in fact two working Android Apps right now. Third party, yes, but I couldn't care less as they both get the job done.

I am going to have to tinker some more, the App seems to be fighting me for some reason.

I assume it is using FTP on port 21 ?

I exported the DB to XML, pointed the program to the XML file and had it do its thing but when I try to connect to the "server" it just won't do it.

OK using the home network.

New App will not see the server 192.168.2.103 I have confirmed IP's and pings

So for goggles I put the new XML in the older MyMovies folder and run that, and cmd window opens with the 192.168.2.103 IP, I fire up the app on the tablet and bingo it's updated

I cant seem to figure out why the new app wont talk to the server (my new laptop)

-Robert

PS - I completely disabled Nortons on the laptop

Hi Falquian,

Thanks to you and your friend for the app. I've installed it on my Samsung Tab 10.1, and my Galaxy SII phone, but I can't seem to get the images uploaded.

Made an XML-export with DVDP (with overview, cast and crew). Imported the XML file, loaded the DB and updated the phone app. All the data is loaded on both my tab and my phone, but alas... no images.

I tried it with a smaller database I keep (30 titles), and when I load the DB, it says "no images on this database". But there are images for every of the 30 profiles! Any idea what I might be doing wrong?

Well figured out what I was doing wrong. I was not loading the DVDP Database.

Phone and Tablet both updated w/ cover images w/o issues after that.

yes, 1/2 or more of my images will not load either.  I would say, about 200-250 of my 600 images load. I even deleted all my images, re-downloaded them from the website. still no go.  everything else looks good though.

Well 1200 profiles and maybe 3 or 4 w/o the thumbnail.

Oddly they are all very recent additions to my collection.

Nightmare before Christmas, Total Recall (2012), Resident Evil : Retribution, Once upon a time season 1,

I am going to try a manual copy and see if that will work. Not sure why those didnt transfer.

OK copying over the files worked just have to remove the f from the front cover image thumbnail.

Not sure why those didnt copy, nothing off about them unlike the few Euro movies I have that have ..3's and .4 after the ups codes or the few custom profiles I have set up with odd ball upc's

Very nice. At least 1/4 of my covers did not transfer, but other than that, it's great.

Hi Mithi,

Since I am not sure if my friend will be willing to include further modifications to the program, try out contacting directly with him, his e-mail address is android@yterbia.com, that e-mail addres can also be used for support with the app, if needed.

I do not know why, but I gave for granted that somewhere in the program that e-mail could be found, yesterday he told me that I was quite surprised since there have been many downloads of the app but no feedback at all, once again it was my fault

Best regards and Happy New Year!

Hi Marcelb7,

I have posted in my previous message the support e-mail address but I will try to help you

As far as I know the images are taken directly from the DVDP folder, that have to be entered in the updater application, in my case the destination folder is: "C:\Users\Ivan\Documents\DVD Profiler\Databases\Default"

Since there is no image exported in the XML file, according to my export profile:

My only doubt is that I am a registered user of DVDP and perhaps something changes from a unregistered version, but I do not thing so, since the app developer is not a registered user.

In any case, the database size should not be a problem, all the developing work and test were made with my +1,200 titles database. To have your problem solved send an e-mail to my friend

Best regards and Happy New Year!

Hi RobAGD,

Sincerely, I have no idea how it works, since it connects to my PC within the intranet no port needed to be open (neither a Windows Firewall permission was required) and since it worked perfectly at first no discussion about that issue appeared

Send an email to my friend: android@yterbia.com

It is extrange, in my case all the covers were transfered. Did you tried to re-sync? If it had been a few covers I could have thought of some Ghost in the Machine    but 1/4 it is FAR too much

Once again, send an e-mail to my friend (android@yterbia.com). To be honest, I had not thought that so many problems would appear. My friend is gonna have some funny days debbuging all those problems. A good training if he decide to develope other Android apps

Hi again RobAGD,

Send some feedback to my friend to find out the solution to those problems. He is not really willing to include new features to the program but wants to have a very solid, well-finished application.

Best regards and Happy New Year!
