Anyone home?  It may be time to shut down the New User Forum as it's now spammed on a daily basis.  It would be nice to not have to deal with this consistent issue.

How would new users post?

How about just cleaning up the forum a couple times a day instead?  Or maybe auto delete any post that contains a hyperlink.

Which new users would those be?

If they've purchased DVDProfiler they can post in any forum, but I can hardly recall any "real" potential users posting here in a long time.  A lot of the so called "new" accounts are spammers.  They try to obfuscate their trail, but you can see the pattern of them hitting and running.  Sure you can report the posts, but it's gotten old and even so, the first page of that forum is still littered with spam posts.

"A lot" means not all.

Of course there's the potential for one "real" new user to come along.  When's the last time that happened?

I think that was probably me.
Do you ever find yourself striving for perfection with an almost worthless attempt at it?  Guttermouth "Lemon Water".  Also, I include in my Profiler database VHS tapes, audio DVDs, audio books (digital, cassette and CD), video games (digital, DVD and CD) and 'enhanced' CDs with video tracks on them, as well as films and TV I've bought digitally.  So I'm an anarchist, deal with it.  Just be thankful I don't include most of my records and CDs etc in it too; don't think I haven't been tempted...

I don't think there's any active moderation going on. But if enough people the spam posts, the system will automatically clean it up.

I do that as well, but it seems quite a few have remained.  Since the default time has since passed there is no way to the messages again.

It's getting harder and harder to even look at today's posts. It must be at least 75% of them are spam and nothing is being done about it. Sad

What are you talking about?  Everything I've reported has been removed.

A lot of stuff I report isn't.  Just look at the existing threads, a new spam pops up and the old spam is still there.  Some threads have so much existing spam it's ridiculous.

Maybe it's time to close the new user forum since it's obviously being used almost exclusively by spammers.
